Cordons were lifted, and the road was opened shortly after 6pm.
Morgan didn’t enter any pleas to charges of wounding with intent to injure, threatening to stab, possession of a butcher’s knife with an intent to cause bodily injury, presenting a metal pole at two complainants who were likely to believe that it was a firearm, two charges of threatening to kill relating to three complainants, and breaching a protection order.
His lawyer, David Venter, didn’t apply for bail but indicated it might be sought in the near future.
Morgan was remanded in custody by Community magistrate Brenda Midson without plea to reappear in court later this month.
He was also ordered not to contact any of the complainants.
