Police are looking for an Australian tourist believed to be in Waikato.

Waikato Police released a photo on social media this morning asking if the public had seen Katherine.

Police are looking for Australian tourist Katherine who they believe is in the Waikato area.

She is visiting New Zealand from Australia and her family have not had contact with her since January 13, police said.

It is believed she may be in the Waitomo or Te Kuiti areas.
