Mana Wahine and women power leads this year's BOON Street Art Festival bringing colour to buildings around the North of Hamilton.
From March 5 to 7, the all-female lineup of seven New Zealand artists will focus on waking up six walls around Liverpool St.
Xoë Hall, Erin Forsyth, Gina Kiel,Gembol (Gemma Yiannoutsos), Pounamu Wharekawa, Abigail Aroha Jensen, and Rachel Kiddie McClure are the talents featured in the sixth free public festival.
BOON Street Art Festival Director, Craig McClure says: "Street Art has the power to transform and uplift spaces, and it's great to be working mostly locally this year."
For Saturday, March 6, BOON Street Art will take GRRRL Fest, a multi-media arts festival celebrating female and non-gender-conforming talent, on board to host a live music stage from 12-6pm as part of a festival hub in Liverpool St.
The hub will feature lots of local singers and bands but there will also be VIP tours, and you are even able to meet the artists, see them in their element and buy some merchandise.
In co-operation with BOON Street Art Festival there will also be temporary local exhibitions in Hamilton venues.
Festival maps with artist and event locations will be available, but you can also find artist profiles, event announcements, maps, shoutouts and competitions on line at @boonstreetart and https://boonstreetart.co.nz/ .
