Cookbook review: Adventures with Chocolate

At last, a man who knows what chocolate is for. "The first thing you do with chocolate is eat it," Paul Young says. He encourages cooks to be adventurous with whatever's left - chocolate sauce for salads, fish and icecream. After trying chocolate sauce on lettuce for the first time, I can highly recommend it. I admit to being very sceptical about this but it was delicious.

Other unusual combos include chocolate with Marmite, chilli and lavender.

There are the classics such as brownies, truffles and cheesecake, but they all have a special touch.

One of my favourite combinations is chocolate and mint and Young's Garden-mint Ganache is on my hit list. Young introduces readers to all sorts of uses for ganache (melted chocolate and cream) some sweet, some savoury.
