This time last year hot rodders around New Zealand blew out the cobwebs after weeks of lockdown to bring The Great Kiwi Rolling Rod Show to their communities.

The national event was an idea from the Te Awamutu Rod and Custom Club — and a year on they are doing it again.

The idea is to bring a hot rod show to the community while members and friends get to go for a cruise in their cars.

Last year the route was extensive to cover as much ground as possible as everyone was exercising physical distancing. It took about two hours to complete.

This year the Te Awamutu Great Kiwi Rolling Rod Show is expected to run for about an hour, and like last year will include Te Awamutu, Kihikihi and conclude at Pirongia for lunch.
