Friendly smiles and great knowledge are two of the reasons Central Taranaki Automotive has been judged as a Top Shop.
For the second time, the team at Central Taranaki Automotive have scooped the top prize, Central Taranaki Regional Winner, at the TSB Top Shop awards for the Central Taranaki area.
This time, the award winning team also received a Highly Commended in the service category.
Owners Kevan and Wendy Old, who say they are 'humbled' by the awards, were overseas when the winners were announced, waking to a text with the good news in the morning.
In their absence, the award was accepted by technician Jason Pepper on their behalf. This, Wendy says, was fitting as "the awards aren't just for us as owners, we are a team here and it was a team effort".
Describing the business as being one which clearly understands their customers needs, judges identified the excellent knowledge demonstrated by all the staff and the friendly manner in which it is given.
"An excellent garage where the staff were very helpful and built a rapport quickly. With a friendly smile they took time to explain things in an easy to understand manner."
The team are also praised for the way in which they constantly go out of their way to get the best deal for their customers.
Kevan says this level of service is standard at their business, "we just treat customers the way we would like to be treated and aim to provide them with the best value of service".
Having owned the business for just over two years, Kevan and Wendy are thrilled to have also been praised for the businesses presentation.
"It is a big feat for an automotive business to get the top prize because we are up against a lot of retail businesses which are always presented nicely," says Kevan, adding that when the business took out the top prize in 2013 it was the first time an automotive business had won.
Kevan and Wendy extend their gratitude to their customers and those who voted for them during the public voting. "We couldn't do this without the support of our customers and it is very humbling to have received so much support from the community," says Wendy.
