Fire staff battled a scrub blaze behind Rotorua's sewerage treatment plant off Te Ngae Rd last night. Rotorua resident Neil Jamieson, who was cycling at Sulphur Point, witnessed the fire and said the flames were about 100m wide and it was well involved. Two engines were at the scene. Fire staff were called to the blaze about 7pm and were there for more than two and a half hours.
