Trembath said the pitch was good and they should have gone on to win the match.
"[The Mount] did have Tony Goodin back, who is a contracted Northern Districts player, but there is no excuses," he said.
He said they put themselves under pressure early, losing a couple of wickets, and were on the back foot for the rest of the innings.
He said the team would simply have to move on from the defeat.
Trembath said there were some positives to take out of the match in terms of their bowling and fielding.
Not least of which will be the bowling figures of Central's Vaughan Blanchard, who took four wickets for seven runs off three overs.
Trembath said Blanchard came in to bowl when the Mount were about five down, breaking down their tail.
