CACTUS - The Longest Day
<p>Twenty four Western Heights High School students have just completed CACTUS, an eight-week programme which is aimed at challenging behaviour through a disciplined and regimented training programme based on a military bootcamp. <br />CACTUS stands for ‘‘combined adolescent challenge training unit and support’’ and the programme finished on Saturday with ‘‘The Longest Day’’ — an eight-hour intensive physical test. Tasks included pulling a fire appliance along Fenton Street.</p>
