Rotorua is set to host a record 57 teams as the Bay of Plenty Secondary Schools Sevens tournament kicks off at the Rotorua International Stadium tomorrow.
The tournament, held over two days, will be one of the biggest qualification tournaments in the country for the 2016 Condor Sevens.
The development and growth of sevens rugby within the Bay of Plenty has seen the tournament expand across two days. There will be an abundance of rugby action across the day with the inclusion of both Under 14 and Under 15 boys' grades in addition to the Under 16 grade.
The prominent development of women's rugby in the Bay of Plenty is reflected in the inclusion of an Under 15's girl's and Under 19 development grade.
Under 19 boys and girls teams will battle it out on day two in their bid to qualify for the Condor Sevens held in Auckland in early December.
