Walkers injured in Te Mata Peak accident, Havelock North

Two walkers were injured on Te Mata Peak this week.

Two walkers have been discharged from hospital after they were seriously injured falling down a bank on Te Mata Peak.

Emergency services were called to Te Mata Peak, Havelock North, about 7.45am on Wednesday.

A police spokeswoman said they received a report of two people who had fallen down a bank.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said two people sustained serious injuries during the incident.

Both were taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital by ambulance. A Hawke's Bay District Health Board spokeswoman said they were assessed, treated and discharged by Wednesday afternoon.
