A man has died in a suspected electrocution in a swimming pool at a central Hastings address.

A police spokeswoman said police and ambulance were called to the address about 1.30pm on Tuesday where a man was found dead.

"The initial report to emergency services suggested the person had been electrocuted in a swimming pool."

Police are assisting with initial inquiries into determining the circumstances, and a coroner is also investigating.
