A logging truck driver has moderate injuries after a truck and trailer rolled on State Highway 2, north of Napier.

Emergency services, including firefighters and St John ambulance were called to the bottom of a stretch of road known as "Devil's Elbow" near Tutira, about 11.30am.

One lane of the road was open, but traffic was delayed for several hours as a crane was called in to right the vehicle.

NZTA confirmed at 6.20pm that the truck had been cleared and both lanes had been reopened.

The truck driver was taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital.

The crash was one of a spate around Hawke's Bay today as bad weather made driving conditions tricky.

Fire and emergency services were called to a rolled van at the intersection of Middle and Lawn Rds, Clive, Hastings at 11.42am.

St John's ambulance took one person, also in a moderate condition, to Hawke's Bay Hospital.

An ambulance was sent to a crash on SH2, Waipukurau, but was stood down as no one was injured.

Two cars collided at the intersection of Frederick St and Caroline Rd, Mayfair, Hastings, at 9.20am but no injuries were reported.

Last week Inspector Dean Clifford recommended drivers, including motorcyclists and cyclists, slow down in wet weather, keep safe following distances and keep their lights on while driving.
