Man found dead in Hastings police station

A man has been found dead at the Hastings police station.

A police spokesperson said a 39-year-old man being held in custody at the station was found dead on Monday.

The death had been referred to the coroner and the Independent Police Conduct Authority were to conduct an independant inquiry.

Police weren't in a position to provide further details while enquires into the matter were ongoing, they said.
