Police have confirmed that a man has died following a motorcycle crash in Te Haroto on the Napier Taupo Rd this afternoon.
Emergency services are attending the scene on State Highway 5, near the Te Haroto summit, where it appears that a male motorcyclist had left the road and hit
a fence, a police spokeswoman said.
The New Zealand Transport Agency issued a road hazard caution at 4.11pm due to the crash on State Highway 5.
It reported the incident to be between Kawaro Roadway And Turangakumu Road.
Motorists were advised to expect delays, although it is understood one road lane remains open and traffic is being directed through.
