The 75-year-old woman lived in a Hastings District Council pensioner housing complex, Tui Vale, in Camberley.

The elderly woman who died after being admitted to hospital with a significant brain injury can now be named.

She was 75-year-old Helen De Leeuw who was first admitted on April 15 and died last Friday morning.

Ms De Leeuw was taken to hospital by ambulance after a member of the public called 111.

She lived in a Hastings District Council pensioner housing complex, Tui Vale, in Camberley alongside other mainly-elderly residents.

In a statement released this afternoon a police spokesman said Hawke's Bay Police were continuing to investigate her death on behalf of the Coroner.
