Young golfers will be getting in the swing of things tomorrow as the search goes on for the region's top under-14 hitters.
Northland Golf Club will host the players, who are due to have a shotgun start at 11am, and will be looking to match what last year's regional winnerJulian Fowler did - win the National Junior Tiger competition.
Golf Northland development manager Michael Macdonald said he hoped the weather wouldn't affect the day's golf.
"We'll be praying that the weather is good enough, we'll just wait and see."
Fowler's win last year set him on his path to the Junior World Champs, and although he is too old to compete this year he will be present tomorrow.
The Junior Tiger is a New Zealand Golf initiative designed to promote the game to young people as an affordable and accessible sport. The series is as much about taking part as it is winning. Golfers of all abilities are encouraged to give it a go on the day.
Macdonald said the day would be a great family event with all kids having a parent as caddie.
