Mimiwhangata surfer joins national team

Mimiwhangata surfer Paul Moretti has been named as reserve for the Under-16 Boys in the New Zealand Junior Surfing Team to contest the 2010 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships at Piha Beach from January 20-28.
Moretti will back up Gisborne's Adam Grimson, Raglan's Ben Poulter, and  Piha's Elliot Paerata Reid and Tane Wallis at the annual event.
Fifteen (including reserves) of New Zealand's top juniors were chosen  and will gather at a training camp in November.
