A victory for Mid Western in the final round of the Southern Districts Premiers rugby will be easier said than done when they take to the field at Maungakaramea.
Matched up against Mid Northern in a decisive round-14 clash, Mid Western coach Danny Woodcock said his team remained upbeat abouttheir chances of retaining fourth place and a semifinal berth. "It's all on the line, it's getting interesting. [We're] looking forward to [the] game, it is a big day for us," Woodcock said.
"We feel that when we have the ball we're as good as any team. Our defence is probably the best in the comp."
With both teams boasting solid, talented forward packs, the platform will be set for good attacking footy.
If both sides can get their backlines firing, as well as their goalkicking, it will be 80 minutes of classic rugby.
"Our attack's been a bit varied at times, it gets a bit hot and cold, so we sort of talked about that [but] this week seems like everybody's on deck."
In other matches, Old Boys Marist host Wellsford and will be in reach of a semifinal if they win. Also, Hora Hora host Kamo, Otamatea host Hikurangi and Waipu host Western Sharks.
