Hopes are high for the Northland Junior Golf team as they prepare for their National Interprovincial tournament at the Cambridge Golf Club next week.
The five U19 players have been in tremendous form this year and should be able to compete with any team at the competition.
A recent winin the Bream Bay Classic may have influenced the selectors' choice of Waipu's Chase McKeown at No1.
But with Kadin Neho, Luke Brown, Sean Masters and No5 Braden Keown in the team, they are one of the best balanced sides Northland has put out in years.
The three U16 players are no mugs either with Julian Fowler, Taylor Gill and Ben Bowmar the selectors' choice for the tournament.
Northland have also named their Masters team to play the Freyberg Masters at Maraenui Golf Club in Napier in early November.
Bob Shirley plays at No1, Tony Mayo at No2 , Paul Young at three, Scott Wilson at four and Iain Power at No5. The team will be managed by Grant Campbell.
