Northlander Caroline Bon is in no great hurry to re-stoke the professional fire after picking up her second amateur win in as many weeks on Saturday at the Carrus Tauranga Open.
Bon was in complete control of the women's 54-hole contest, with the 22-year-old  firing a third straight sub-par round to
win in a canter.
It was the in-form Bon's maiden Charles Tour title and came after her New Zealand strokeplay win in Hawke's Bay two weeks ago.
Bon mixed four birdies with two bogeys in another solid third round to continue a run of consistent form, winning by a massive 15 shots against a lightweight and mediocre women's field.
A failed bid to turn pro on the European ladies tour hasn't deterred her but Bon will see out the year as an amateur before having another crack.
"Europe's where I want to play and I only just missed out [at Q-School] last year in Spain, so I have the benefit of already having seen the course.
"I'm glad I came back to play this year as an amateur because I've really progressed lots as a golfer. It's my 10th year playing top-level amateur stuff so I know where I'm going."
Bon rated her win in Tauranga  as better than the strokeplay title. "I played pretty solid. I was in good head-space and just let myself play good shots.
I won the strokeplay but this was better - I played consistently better in all departments of my game."
She believed the work with sports psychologist Vicki Aitken was a key to her improvement and goal towards becoming No 1 amateur in New Zealand and making the team  for the Espirito Santo world championships at the end of the year.
"I've been playing lots of golf but it's my mental game that has shifted, nothing swing related or physical. I'm out there thinking lots about how I'm playing and playing every single shot on its merits, rather than getting way ahead of myself."
Bon will miss the next Charles Tour event at Muriwai because she'll be  representing New Zealand at the Korean Open, her first Asian event.
Women's 54-hole tournament (par 71):
206 Caroline Bon (Northland) 67 70 69
221 Emily Perry (Lochiel) 74 76 71
228 Faye-Amy Nickson (Peninsula) 76 74 78
229 Rebekah Brownlee (Gulf Harbour) 74 84 71
244 Jess Guenzerodt (Christchurch) 78 81 85
