Two patched Head Hunters arrested in early morning raids today were already behind bars in Mt Eden Prison, adding more pressure on the embattled private provider Serco and the Corrections Department.

Who are the head hunters?

A motorcycle gang linked with drug trafficking and other illicit activities.

Millie Elder-Holmes' partner Connor Morris was a member of the gang, his father was a senior member of the gang, Chris "One-Eye" Morris.

The Head Hunters are a motorcycle gang that formed in 1967, moved to West Auckland in 1978.

It was officially established as a motorcycle club in 1985 and an incorporated society in 1996.

Where are they based?

The Head Hunters are based in the North Island, predominantly around East Auckland, with its headquarters in Ellerslie, as well as chapters located in West Auckland, Wellsford and Wellington.

Why have police targeted the gang?

The gang has made millions out of its crime networks and police say the gang's activities have a "ripple on effect" into the community
