It only happens every second year, and Whangarei's unique collaborative art event, CollaboratioNZ, is on again next week.

Once every two years, 70 artists from all over the planet come together for CollaboratioNZ, which is held at Whangārei Heads.

Working together in the mediums of metal, wood, glass, stone, fibre, paint, print and jewellery, the artists will produce over 100 unique pieces in 10 days from March 8, to 16, in McGregors Bay, Whangārei Heads.

The adventurous artists from across the world are keen to work in tandem with others, to share and learn new skills. They grow their art-practice whilst collaborating to produce wonderful, unexpected art-pieces.

There will be a public open day on March 12 from 10am - 3pm at the Mt Manaia Baptist Camp venue where people can go along and see the artists at work and watch their creative thoughts come to life.

Then, on March 16, there will be a no reserve live auction of the works created at Forum North, with live music and entertainment from 11am and the auction from 1pm.
