A group of Whangarei women who come from many countries plan to offer shoppers and passers-by in Cameron St a taste of their diverse cultures today.

Women's International Newcomers Group Social (Wings), which helps new arrivals adjust and make friends when they move to Whangarei, will hold a food stall in the mall today.

The event will be Wings' main fundraiser this year to help cover the group's operating costs.

"We normally do a pamper day but decided on something different," Deirdre Nicholls said.

Kitchen Culture will highlight cuisine from several countries, a wide variety of dishes for sale at reasonable prices.

As well as food, there will be music and raffles, with prizes donated by local businesses.

The main prize will be a $1000 travel voucher and $500 spending money. Kitchen Culture will be from 10am-2pm.
