Whangārei store worker allegedly assaulted in Jack St robbery

Police are investigating after a Whangārei store worker was allegedly assaulted today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Shane Pilmer of Whangārei CIB said police received a report about 9am that four people had entered a store on Jack St, Ōtangarei, and assaulted a worker.

“Thankfully they were not injured.”

Pilmer said the group took the money till and several other items before fleeing in a vehicle.

“Police are working hard to identify and locate the persons responsible."
