Shane Jones - NZ First candidate

Shane Jones - NZ First candidate

Kia ora, my name is Shane Jones. I am the New Zealand First candidate in the Whangarei electorate.

I was born and bred in Northland, raised on a farm in Awanui, educated at St Stephen's Anglican boarding school, attended Auckland, Victoria, Western Australia and Harvard universities.

During my career I have held a variety of commercial roles including Chairman of NZ's largest fisheries company Sealords and the Maori Fisheries Commission.

I have also been a cabinet minister and an ambassador.

This has given me a useful blend of knowledge, experience and proven negotiation expertise.

I am willing and waiting to deploy these talents to recharge Whangarei.

In this election the voters of Whangarei have a rare opportunity to determine the formation of the next government by making me their MP.

We will halt the rise in the foreign ownership of our resources, the escalation of immigration and the decline in our infrastructure.

If you vote for me and NZ First we will ensure Whangarei is an essential part of the nation's economic narrative.

As the father of seven children and five grandchildren, mostly living in Northland, I know that real action is needed to strengthen law and order, build up our schooling and health services.

Investment and training in our primary sector is sorely needed. This is why our student loan policy of handsome write-offs for those who live and work in the regions will boost Whangarei.

I am the candidate that can put Whangarei First and take a crucial role in the next coalition government. No other Whangarei candidate can make or deliver on that commitment.
