A star-studded field of surfers packed out the sixth annual Logger Heads longboard competition in Mangawhai on Saturday.

Over 50 surfers entered in what were the strongest field of entries in both the women's and junior divisions, with a bunch of new faces also taking to water in the open logger and old mal divisions (pre-1970s longboards).

Logger Heads 2019 results:

JUNIOR LOGGER DIVISION
1st - Nat Fitt (Auckland)
2nd - Billy Whelan (Mangawhai Heads)
3rd - Te Maia Pihema (Auckland)
4th - Joey Cox (Auckland)
5th - Sonny Eades (Omanu)

OLD MAL DIVISION
1st - Matt Newdick (Auckland)
2nd - Jordan Griffin (Mount Maunganui)
3rd - Tom Mason (Auckland)
4th - Paul Culpan (Auckland)
5th - Daryn McBride (Port Waikato)
