One person has died after a serious crash on State Highway 14 in Northland.
Emergency services were first called to a single-vehicle crash in Tangiteroria about 2.40pm.
Police later confirmed a person died at the scene despite efforts from emergency services.
The Serious Crash Unit has concluded its examinations atthe crash site and the road has reopened.
Another crash involving two vehicles happened on the same stretch of road forcing a section of SH14 to close earlier today.
The crash happened in Maunu and minor injuries were reported.
