Prison Escort and Court Custodial Officers - Northland

FIRST Security Guard Services Ltd is a proud member of the Wilson Security Group. Wilson Security is one of New Zealand's and Australia's largest and most experienced Security organisations specialising in all aspects of Security Services.

We are seeking Prisoner Escort Officers to provide a safe environment for the movement of prisoners. The role involves the escort of prisoners between Courts/ Prisons and Police Stations within the region, as well as the courtroom supervision of prisoners at courts for jury trials.

The position is largely based out of Kaikohe and therefore applicants must have their own transport as early starts are often required.

We are looking for people with the following attributes:

• Good communication skills as reports may need to be given in open court
• Ability to deal with prisoners in a calm and professional manner
• Ability to remain composed and think clearly in stressful situations
• Play a vital role in improving public safety and reducing re-offending

Key Requirements:

• Hold or be able to obtain class 2 heavy vehicle license
• Immaculate presentation. Physically Fit and must be able to pass a fitness and drug screening test
• Pass a number of training courses involving first aid, control and restraint and law related modules

Essential to the role:

• A current Certificate of Approval (Green) or in the process of obtaining one
• No criminal convictions- (Please note that Clean Slate Act does not apply to this role)
• Full and clean NZ Driver's License for driving a manual vehicle
• Must have NZ residency or a valid work visa
