Police investigating after shots fired in Raumanga, Whangārei

Police are investigating after reports of shots being fired at a property in Whangārei overnight.

About 11.20pm police received reports a group of people were arguing and gunshots were heard at a Raumanga property.

Two vehicles then reportedly left the Hedley Place property, a spokesperson said.

“A short time later police located a vehicle nearby with significant damage, consistent with a firearm being discharged.“

No one was injured during the incident, the spokesperson said.

Police said they would be present in the area throughout the day as inquiries continued.
