A poem penned by Whangarei writer and artist Leo Cappel will be representing New Zealand in an international compilation of poetry for children.
The as yet untitled book will be published in time for the inaugural World Art Games in 2013, a two week festival celebrating all artistic disciplines, withover 60 nations represented.
The poem, titled Roseanna, was originally published in Mr Cappel's novel Clone, which is one of seven books he has had published.
Five of his stage plays, including three musicals, have been produced.
The poem, about a duckling that is afraid of water, was also published in a British compilation called Bedside Poems for Every Day of the Year.
