Long serving members Sheama Shepherd and Maurice Arthur about to cut the cake at the Combined Probus Club of Onerahi's 25th anniversary celebrations yesterday. It was also Arthur's 90th birthday.
The Onerahi Combined Probus Club has celebrated 25 years of providing an interesting place for its members to go.
Probus is a local, national, and international association of retired people who come together in non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit, autonomous clubs which provide regular opportunities for members to meet others in similar
circumstances with similar levels of interest, make new friends, and maintain and expand their interests.
Onerahi Combined Probus Club is a very active club with many interest groups and regular trips and activities and groups including coffee, music appreciation, walking, handicraft and sports.
The club was set up in April 1984 and yesterday it celebrated 25 years with a function at the Onerahi Bowling Club. The club meets at 10am on the second Tuesday each month at Onerahi Bowling Club, Alamein Ave.
