An overseas citizen has been charged after causing a head-on collision just north of Kerikeri.
A 38-year-old man has been charged with careless driving causing injury after a head-on crash on State Highway 10 on Sunday night.
The collision occurred about 9.15pm outside Redwoods Garden Centre, just north of the Kerikeri roundabout.
The driver of the offending vehicle was an overseas citizen living in theKerikeri area, police say. He has been summonsed to appear in Kaikohe District Court.
The driver of the other vehicle received a suspected broken collar bone and was taken to Bay of Islands Hospital in Kawakawa.
Meanwhile, a car stolen in Kawakawa in the early hours of Saturday morning was found in a ditch beside State Highway 1 at Ohaeawai at 5am. No one was in the car when it was found.
