One person dead after crash in Northland

Police have confirmed one person has died at the scene of a crash in Northland.

Senior Sergeant Daniel Cleaver said police were alerted about 10am to the crash involving two vehicles on Gibbons Rd, near Kaiwaka.

It appeared the two vehicles had collided head on and the road was blocked.

One person has died at the scene. Police, including a serious crash investigator, were at the scene.
