Police have named the man who died in a crash in the Far North’s Ōhaeawai on September 30.

He was Riccardo Clark, 20, of Waimā.

“Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this time,” a police spokesman said.

Clark died after a car rel="" title="https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/far-north-crash-on-sh12-in-ohaeawai-leaves-one-dead-one-critical/QAZ7R54MUVACTCGBEKHF2YRB2I/">collided with a bank on State Highway 12 just after 11.15pm that evening.

Another person was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Police at the time said the Serious Crash Unit was investigating the cause of the crash.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
