Judges, social workers, community advocates and men and women who have served as Justices of the Peace gathered in Whangarei on Saturday to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Northland association.
There are 145 members in the Northland Justice of the Peace Association which covers the area from Kaiwaka toTowai, including Dargaville.
Northland's longest-serving JP, Brian Jaques, who was appointed in 1971, and Joan Howse, appointed in 1974, cut the cake during a special morning tea.
