Northland entertainer Frank (Cisco) Ingram has died.

Northland entertainer Frank (Cisco) Ingram has died.

A well-known Northland personality has taken his hat off for the last time.

Frank (Cisco) Ingram was born in Rawene in 1949 but worked overseas for many years.

When he returned it was with a passion to work within his community.

Frank wore many hats: as a mental health worker with Hokianga Health, as singer and regular voice at the Hokianga Country Music Club and all their festivals and also with the Whangarei Country Music Club.

He was also a fitness instructor, setting up his own community gym in Rawene, an athletics coach at schools around the Hokianga area and as a fisherman was renowned for his fishing escapades.

A compassionate man with a ready smile who offered kindness and a meal to anyone in need, Frank died peacefully after a long illness caused by diabetes.

Over the past five years, through the Whangarei Hospital Renal Unit, he educated himself and others about diabetes and how to live well on dialysis.

Frank died peacefully at home with family. He will be sadly missed.
