An autumn exhibition of new works from emerging to mid-tier and established Northland artists is on show at the Quest Art Space, on the corner of Bank and Cameron Sts.

Called Awhe, a wide range of styles and disciplines showcasing an eclectic and diverse body of works has been hung on the walls of the thoroughfare into the Quest Hotel.

It features works by nine artists: Aaron Hoskins, Karel Kaio, Kym Marsden, Rodrigo Rozas, Jamaica Tata, Ngaraiti Smith, Virginia Guy, James O'Shea and Rapana Maihi.

Awhe runs until May 2, with each artist taking shifts to staff the space and discuss the works with visitors through the exhibition period.

The Quest Art Space is a collaboration between Creative Northland and the Quest Hotel Whangārei. Creative Northland administers the space, rotating artworks every two months, programming up to six-eight exhibitions a year.

''We support visual artists through providing a low cost exhibition space and curation support. It is set up as a community art space targeting emerging and mid-tier artists to display artworks for free,'' Hinurewa te Hau, Creative Northland general manager said.

Anyone interested in having an exhibition or being a part of a group show at the Quest Art Space should contact lennie@creativenortland.com
