Premier Netball report, June 6 In the fourth week of the preliminary round there were no surprises or upsets. There is only one week to go before promotion relegation.

The most entertaining game was between the two younger teams, Manawanui White and WGHS 1. WGHS 1 started strongly to lead by five goals at the end of the first quarter. After that it all went Manawanui White's way with them putting on relentless pressure throughout the court. They won the next three quarters to win 56 goals to 39.

For Manawanui White Sian Telfer at centre for most of the game then wing defence in the final quarter applied pressure outside the circle adding to the defensive effort.

Jaelyn Walker at goal shoot from the second quarter shot consistently and received some big high ball from the mid court which she shot.

For WGHS 1 Dani Kirby at wing defence then wing attack was the player of the day. The whole WGHS 1 team never quit trying.

Marist won all four quarters and with each quarter pulled ahead by a few more goals. Marist won 52 goals to 41.

For Marist Tamea Ross at goal attack the whole game had an outstanding game and she shot consistently. She was well supported by Sherryn Schraag at goal shoot for most of the game.

For Fideliter 2 the standout player was Trina Harris Ruke at goal defence who came up with some good intercepts and turnover ball. She was ably assisted by Alexis Chapman at goal keep.

In the final game, Northland Coastal Development will be disappointed not to have been more competitive in their game against Active Refrigeration Fideliter 1. Fideliter led from start to finish and were up by nine goals at half time. The full time score was 56 goals to 34. For Fideliter 1 Hayley Tipene at centre was the stand out player proving some great attacking drives and applying pressure on defence.
