In the second week of the championship round, Hora Hora 1 were tested in wet and atrocious conditions.

They led by four goals at the end of the first quarter and by seven at half-time.

Marist 2 then won the third quarter by a goal but Hora Hora held on to get the win, 40-34.

For Hora Hora 1, Ange Wiki at goal keep and Leah Te Iringa at goal defence performed well in the poor conditions earning a lot of turnover ball.

Hayley Taylor, at wing defence, created havoc in the mid-court and Leah Valli on in this position later in the game continued the effort.

Marama Flay-Alker at centre drove well to the circle edge.

For Marist 2, Rebecca Simper was the standout at goal shoot.

She was well supported by Kate Aitchison at wing attack and Tennielle Cherrington at centre.

Hayley Cassidy at goal defence did well also.

Manawanui Development led from start to finish in their game against Fideliter 2 and while the rain was absent at the start of the game, halfway through it was pouring down.

Manawanui Development led by eleven goals at half-time and then had a big second half restricting Fideliter 2's ability to convert goals.

The final score was 59-28.

Briahn Ruri at goal attack was a standout and she shot accurately throughout her time on court. She had great support from Paige Neho who played a calm consistent game.

It was a great performance by Kapua Harris-Otene at goal defence and she was well supported by Mariu Taua at goal keep.

They showed an ability to read the game and gained good intercepts as a result.

Kayson Keerako at centre played a brilliant game, allowing the ball to flow freely through the court.

For Fideliter 2, the shooters delivered particularly well in the first half.

Katelyn Gunson performed well at goal shoot and Holly Weber, in the mid-court, put pressure on the opposition forcing some good turnover ball.

On defence, Ruth Prime at goal defence played well getting some good rebounds and clearing the ball well through the court.

The game between Whangarei Girls' High School (WGHS) and Whangaruru 1 was deferred, as several WGHS players are Under-15 representatives playing away at a tournament in New Plymouth.
