Man who died after Northland SH15 crash named as Kerry McDonald

Police have released the name of the person who died in a crash on State Highway 15 last month in Northland.

He was Kerry McDonald, 64, from Russell.

McDonald died en route to hospital after he was critically injured in the crash at the intersection of SH15 and McCathie Rd on January 28 near Ruakākā.

A police spokeswoman said their thoughts were with McDonald’s friends and family. The crash is being investigated.

State Highway 15 was closed in both directions for about two hours after the crash.
