A man in his 50s died after falling 10m from a flying fox at a Northland fun park.

St John territory manager Mark Going said an ambulance from Whangarei responded to a call in Maungakaramea at about 5.45pm yesterday.

Two advanced paramedics attempted to resuscitate the man who was in cardiac arrest as the result of the fall but were unsuccessful.

The Northern Advocate understands the accident happened at AE Fun Park on Hayward Rd, about 15 minutes south of Whangarei.

When contacted by the Northern Advocate the park said it had no comment at this stage.
