They finished the group stage unbeaten, beating fellow Northlanders Kerikeri High School 6-1 and Taihape Area School 15-0.
In their quarter-final clash, there were hopes for a tougher contest, but that wasn't to be.
Huanui piled on 13 goals in a whitewash against Henderson High School.
They were pushed more in the semi final, this time beating Newlands College 5-1.
After being tied up at one a piece after 15 minutes, Huanui kicked on through goals from Oliver Hawker, Ethan Coldin, Campbell Mortimer and James Mortimer.
This left just one opponent to beat before being crowned champions: Te Aroha College.
The game was scoreless for the first 27 minutes, but a three goal burst either side of halftime put Huanui in the box seat.
James Mortimer scored a field goal and followed that with a penalty corner five minutes later.
A Liam Mortimer goal one minute later put the result beyond doubt.
A goal from Luke Harvey gave Te Aroha a glimmer of hope, but it wasn't to be as Codlin clinched the title with a goal in the 46th minute.
Captain Emma Wickham took home the MVP award for a stellar tournament.
Liam Mortimer lead the goal scoring tally with 15, more than over half of all teams in the competition, with James Mortimer just behind on 13.
Ethan Codlin nabbed seven goals to finish eighth overall.
Meanwhile Whangarei Girls High School finished sixth in the Federation Cup.
They topped their group due to superior goal difference after a tight loss to Saint Kentigern College (2-3) and wins against Iona College (6-4) and Rangitoto College (5-0).
Following this, WGHS beat Hillcrest High School 3-2 in a tense knockout game courtesy of an extra time goal from Sarah Barnes.
However, they couldn't repeat those heroics in their final games, going down 3-6 to St Margarets College in the quarter-final.
WGHS lost the fifth and sixth playoff 5-2 to Rangi Ruru Girls School but can take a lot from being the sixth best high school girl's hockey team in New Zealand.
