Goat-milk tanker crashes

A tanker full of goats milk crashed on State Highway 1.

A tanker full with goats milk went off State Highway 1 after the driver is believed to have suffered a medical incident.

The southbound truck and trailer went off the road on the left of a right-hand bend on passing lanes near Mata about 9.30am yesterday.

The driver, in his 60s, was not injured but was taken to Whangarei Hospital as a precaution. A second tanker was called to take some milk from the tanker in the ditch to lighten the load before it was towed back on the road. The truck was not believed to be badly damaged but was taken to the depot in Waipu.
