Users of Whangarei's Hatea Loop will be unable to complete their circuits tonight as the footbridge has been temporarily closed.
Whangarei District Council said the Kotuitui Whitinga footbridge, near the Pocket Park, is closed between 3pm and 9pm tonight, Tuesday.
"The footbridge is presently not working. It is not accessible to pedestrian or marine traffic."
"Contractors are working here at present and we will update you once it is working again. Sorry for the inconvenience caused," the council's Facebook post said.
The middle of the bridge usually pivots to allow marine traffic to pass through the bridge. It could be seen partially open, with contractors working on it.
