Northland's emerging businesses are being invited to take part in the upcoming Whangarei A&P Summer Show.
The show runs from December 5 to 6 at Barge Showgrounds and this year, includes a new space for the region's start-up companies.
Woof & Wags K9 Cookies, a start-up business being run by24 year-old Kristal Cooke, is one such business which is hoping to gain some exposure through the show.
The idea for her baked treats for dogs came about thanks to the family dog, Rupert, the biggest fan of her peanut butter and wheat flour cookies.
She also makes regular cookies for human consumption.
Whangarei A&P Society CEO Malcolm McKerrow said the show's organisers were keen on helping the region's start-ups.
"Extending this assistance to allow new, emerging businesses also become involved is another way that the summer show has contributed to the economy in Northland," he said.
"The society is happy to be able to help some of Northland's young entrepreneurs and everyone who pays at the gate to come to the show is helping to make a contribution to these community groups too."
