Whangarei's the Wilson sisters from the television series Keeping up with the Kaimanawas opened their Northland home to the public for the first time in the spirit of Christmas.

Tickets to the Kristmas with the Kaimanawas sold out quickly and crowds turned out to the three sisters' Hukerenui property for yesterday's event.

Showtym Spotlight was described as "every little girl's dream pony" and he was a hit with the crowds who turned up to Kristmas with the Kaimanawas.

During the day Vicki, Kelly and Amanda Wilson gave demonstrations with horses from the show and punters were able to meet the trio and their team of Kaimanawa horses and champion showjumpers that appeared in the TV series.

In Keeping up with the Kaimanawas, a television show that attracted half a million viewers each week, the sisters work with the wild horses they rescued from the Kaimanawa Ranges to show they are trainable and talented.
