Kaipara scored 274 with Jordan Kose also scoring a half century, before Kamo were rolled for 89. Kyron Dill got the returns with an impressive 5/24 with the ball.
Kaipara enforced the follow on and Kamo were 23 without loss at stumps, needing a big effort next Saturday to escape defeat.
Onerahi Central's Dillion Lees provided the star turn for his side as they dominated Zest Insurance Whangarei Boys High School at Kensington Park.
Despite Boys High's Fletcher Coutts five wicket haul, Lees top-scored with 71, before he was run out by Chris Boswell Smith before OC went on to compile 216. The right handed batsman then opened the bowling and struck first ball, trapping opener Josh Crawford lbw, to get their innings off to a bright start.
Boys High were 95-4 at stumps and any chance of overhauling OC's total rests on maintaining the partnership at the wicket between Sam Clotworthy (34no) and Lewis Miller.

The home side were dismissed for 166 in the first innings with Lynton Staniford taking 3/39 for City, before a hostile spell from Jason Morgan ripped the heart out of the City reply.
His 5/23 off 15 overs saw City back in the pavilion for a paltry 87, with number 11 Kieran Nelson top-scoring with an unlucky 13.
Joe O'Sullivan made up for his first innings duck to score not out 62, combining with Kurtley Watson (42) to put his side in good position when the game resumes on Saturday.
