However, Taylor wasn't as destructive in the second innings as his damage was limited to one for 19. Chipping in for Kaipara in claiming City's next 10 wickets were Michael O'Flaherty [two for 12] and Shaun Beamish [two for none].
Before City's capitulation, Kaipara had batted first and posted 170 before declaring with only eight wickets down.
Doing the job with the bat was Rory Christopherson who top scored with 60 and Noel Roberts who scored 52. City's best bowler was James Jordon with three for 14.
Kaipara's win means they take an early lead in the Oxford Trust two-day competition as Saturday was the start of round one.
In other two-day match play, Maungakaramea opener Bert Horner's 90 has left his side in a strong position after the first day's play - with Maungakaramea posting 296 and Zest Insurance Whangarei Boys' High School sitting at 96 for four at the close of play.
While Horner was supported by Nick Stobart [66] and Kurtley Watson [36], Boys' High's Tyler Lortan caused much concern for the visitors as he took six for 96.
Lortan was the aggressor with the ball for Boys' High as he bowled 29.4 overs and was given back-up from opening bowler Matthew Lobb who picked up three for 45.
Lortan backed up his efforts with the ball to be unbeaten on 45 at the close of play on Saturday, with Tim Osbaldiston at the crease with him on 28.
