Pictures of two hooded thieves who broke into Kamo Cuts and Tattoo have been posted on Facebook.

A Northland business hopes videos and photographs posted on Facebook will help nab thieves who stole hundreds of dollars' worth of tattoo and hairdressing equipment.

Kamo Cuts and Tattoo was broken into by two thieves wearing hooded sweatshirts, about 12.38am last Sunday.

The thieves made their way through a window of the business on Wilkinson Ave, Kamo.

Brendon Hitchinson of Kamo Cuts and Tattoo said he posted security camera footage and still photographs to the social networking site in the hope the thieves would be identified.

"We have to try and identify them. If nothing is done, they will continue. But if they think they can be identified, they might think twice about doing it again to some other business," Mr Hitchinson said.

Already the video clips had been shared hundreds of times and been viewed by thousands.

The duo went into the tattoo area first and took all the ink and a machine. They then moved into the barber area and took trimmers and clippers.

The barber's side of the business remained open but there would be no tattooing until new machines could be bought.

A technical difficulty meant there was no alarm working over the weekend. "It was just bad timing," Mr Hitchinson said.
